Modifying a California Exotic Novelties' Ring of Passion™
Contents |
Overview
The California Exotic Novelties' Ring of Passion is a variable speed bullet or egg device. In this tutorial, it will be modified to work as a simple on-off device with the speed of the bullet set manually by the user, but could be modified instead to offer variable speed control using a PWM controller.
Procedures
The steps involved in modifying a Ring of Passion are as follows:
Device Preparation
Open the bullet controller case and remove the wheel next to the batteries. With the wheel removed you can see how the electrical circuit is constructed. The positive battery terminal is connected to the potentiometer which then runs to the bullet. The return from the bullet goes straight into the negative battery terminal.
Splicing the Contacts
After stripping the ends of the severed negative wire, attach your teledildonics wires and cover them with electrical tape.
Put the bullet's wire back into the slot at the end of the case and run the two teledildonics wires next to it. The notch may need to be widened a bit depending on the gauge of wires you use. If they're small enough, they'll fit without additional modifications.
Connecting to your Computer
Tuck all the wires under the wheel and re-attach it to the case. Close the case and you should have a neat assembly like the one in the figure to the right. You can now connect these leads to your computer's teledildonics interface.
Other Thoughts
If you'd like to interchange your devices, solder the plug end of a 2.5mm Power Plug (Radio Shack PN: 274-289) to these leads and then solder a 2.5mm Phone Jack (Radio Shack PN: 274-245) to the wires coming out of your teledildonics interface.
